International Wing Tsun Exchange Camp Highlights — Five Nations Gather in Hong Kong

Elite Wing Tsun practitioners from five countries gathered in Hong Kong for a week of intensive exchange training. Grandmaster Leung Ting personally guided Chi Sau sessions — photos and recordings are now available.

Event Overview

In August 2025, elite Wing Tsun practitioners from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Germany, Australia, and the United Kingdom gathered in Hong Kong for a week-long International Wing Tsun Exchange Training Camp. Organised by the International WingTsun Association (IWTA), the event aimed to foster technical exchange and cultural heritage across the global Wing Tsun community.

Great Grandmaster Leung Ting personally supervised the entire camp, providing individual guidance on everything from Chi Sau nuances to form refinement. The programme also featured demonstration performances and cultural exchange activities that highlighted Wing Tsun's depth as an international martial art.

Training Highlights

The camp's curriculum covered multiple core aspects of Wing Tsun, including:

  • Chi Sau Specialisation: progressive training from single-hand to double-hand Chi Sau and free sparring
  • Form Refinement: detailed corrections and application analysis for Siu Nim Tau, Chum Kiu, and Biu Tze
  • Wooden Dummy Techniques: segmented instruction of the 116 Wooden Dummy movements with combat application
  • Weapons Training: foundational and advanced techniques of the Long Pole (Luk Dim Boon Gwun) and Butterfly Knives (Baat Jaam Do)

Great Grandmaster Leung Ting placed special emphasis on Wing Tsun's "inside-out" training philosophy — first establishing correct body structure and power transmission, then pursuing speed and power development.

Participant Testimonials

Peter from Germany shared: "This is my third time attending the exchange camp in Hong Kong, and I always learn something new from the Grandmaster. This time, my understanding of 'listening force' in Chi Sau made a qualitative leap."

Sarah from Australia noted: "The Grandmaster's one-on-one correction helped me identify structural issues I had overlooked for years. After just two days of adjustment, my movements feel completely different."
